Anyhoo, she received a fancy pants sling. At first, I was a bit intimidated as the instructions looked...complicated. The sling came with a DVD of demonstrations on how to use it. So, while Renee was napping, I watched it, a few times. I wasn't sure she would like the sling as we have a baby carrier that she will ride around in for a little while but then she gets fussy and its so hard to get her in and out of it. So, after preparing myself with multiple viewings of the DVD, I decided to give the sling a try.
Here we are! Mind you, at the time of this photo I had not yet brushed my teeth or hair so--be kind. What's important is I think Renee likes the sling and I managed to figure out how to put her in it safely. What's more important is that it looks cool : )
So, in order to get her and me used to the sling I kept practicing throughout the day. I managed to get her to sleep in it while I vacuumed! I think I was a bit overzealous though as I now feel a bit sore.
This sling is so much better than the backpack/front pack style baby carrier because its more versatile. She can be upright and as she gets tired I can slide her down into the pocket and she can snooze away. Plus, its very good for the late afternoon / early evening when she can't sleep or stay awake and is a little fussy. And, we can't forget how much more stylish it is.

Cool sling. I want one...but my baby is probably too big for one now :( He likes his baby bjorn though so I guess we'll just have to embrace that.
Love it, love it. Good job Auntie Am. I think you could make that into a pretty cool wedding-on-the-beach halter dress if Renee decides she hates it after a couple of times in it. Renee looks pretty sweet sticking out of that sling.
You look great, too, Shannon. I can't tell you don't have your teeth brushed. And Renee doesn't seem to mind so no problem, mon.

Oh, goodie. She likes her sling! If LA has taught me anything it's that the right accessory can make any woman look put together and in charge, even if she's dumping out her purse or peeing on the street. You and Renee look like you're off to run the world. And look good while doing it. Vaccuuming with baby on board... did they teach that in the DVD???
